JUDGE JILL R. CUMMINS
Judge Cummins grew up in and has been a Montgomery County resident for more than 47 years. She attended local Catholic schools for elementary and high school. Upon graduation from the University of Virginia, where she majored in Government, she attended American University, Washington College of Law.
Licensed to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia for 29 years, Judge Cummins has worked as a litigator/trial attorney for her entire career. She has worked in private practice in Montgomery County and for Allstate Insurance Company for 24 years. She held the leadership position of Managing Attorney for Allstate’s Capital Region for 13 years. Judge Cummins has extensive trial experience, having tried over 120 jury trials throughout the state and federal courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
In her community, Judge Cummins has been active in voter registration and training; she has been an election judge working in polling places in Montgomery County for 10 years; and she is an active participant in the Street Law program working with local high schools and students throughout the Metropolitan area.
After a rewarding and successful legal career in practice, Judge Cummins was honored to be appointed to the Circuit Court for Montgomery County in December 2017, by Governor Larry Hogan.
She continues to reside in Montgomery County in her childhood home, which she and her husband purchased to raise their own children.
